Delish.

It's a lovely day in the northwest today, the sun peeking his nose out of the white clouds every few minutes. Portlanders scampering around being outdoorsy, spring breeze, suds in the sink.

And me? Relaxing my brain, listening to Perry Como, sweeping the floors, and cooking.

::happiness::

Yesterday I was at Freddy's and saw their delectably enticing cinnamon swirl bread was marked down. Of course I couldn't resist....

French toast is just one of those mindless tasks in cooking that I learned to make years and years ago.

Easy, easy.

But you know what makes it taste fantastic?

Maple syrup. No, not drizzled over (or drowning) the bread, but IN it. :)

Mix about 3 tbs. maple syrup in your egg mixture, along with cinnamon, nutmeg and milk. Let bread soak a little.

Then throw it on your griddle. Don't cook it to long! (or forget it ) French toast doesn't need to be obliterated. ;)

cheers!

Snow

Oh beautiful flurries of snow fairies.
They dance round in aimless circles,
As soft winter wind pulls back and forth.
From a gray lovely sky do they play.
Putting on a rapturous performance.
Like ballerinas,
Gracefully they do land .
Making us sigh in joy.

Fall.

“October gave a party,
The leaves by hundreds came,
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind, the band.”
